THIS YEAR, Huckleberry Youth Programs is celebrating FIFTY YEARS of providing critical safety, health, justice and education programs to youth and families in San Francisco and Marin.
We are celebrating our 50TH ANNIVERSARY with special edition Huckleberry t-shirts and caps. With every $100 you donate to Huckleberry through this special donation page, you'll receive a cap or t-shirt! The t-shirt* features a vintage image of one of Huckleberry's first outreach posters created in 1967 - Huckleberry's for Runaways - when Huckleberry House was located on Broderick Street. The cap** features groovy Summer of Love tie dye and says, "Celebrating 50 Years" on the back.
Please indicate your shirt size in the notes section. If you are choosing a cap, indicate whether you would like a black cap or white cap.
Our goal is $5,000 for our 50TH ANNIVERSARY!

Huckleberry Youth Programs opened Huckleberry House, the first shelter for runaway youth in the United States in June 1967 in Haight-Ashbury, in response to thousands of young runaways who fled to San Francisco during the Summer of Love for a sense of change and new found freedom. Huckleberry House provided 24-hour emergency shelter, crisis counseling, drug and alcohol services, family mediation and eventual reunification with parents or caregivers. Fifty years later, we continue to quietly provide that "safe haven" for hundreds of at-risk youth each year through Huckleberry House. Our services have also expanded to include adolescent, family and substance use/abuse counseling, support for trafficked youth, year-round health care and education through two teen clinics, juvenile justice diversion and career training and college access programming. You can read more about the scope of our work at www.huckleberryyouth.org.
